The future scares me.

But not always in a bad way. I have always been someone who does not like surprises, because I am worried that I will be let down, that I anticipated too much. So the future scares me, but I know there will be good surprises; hopefully more than bad ones.

I have no idea where I will be in 10 years. I will be 29. Hopefully traveling, maybe going to my 10 year high school reunion since my best friend is our student body president; he would force me to go for sure. I hope that I am able to be self sufficient, one of my biggest goals in life is to be completely independent and not have to worry on relying on any of my loved ones, and be able to help them out as they did for me when I needed help. I think the world is going to start changing, maybe even more drastically than we thought it would. Earth has never been kind to us, I believe we are parasites, and she is trying too get rid of us. I believe we can coexist, but with the way we are, it will take a lot to get there. Earth and the human race are mysterious though, and who knows, maybe we will get out on the other side.

With a pandemic like this happening so early in my life, I know a lot will change. I hope that change comes, because change can be good; even if we have to sacrifice things we take for granted. Hopefully my love for people in my life does not change, or my will to keep going even when things get rough. This year already has already taught me so much about myself and others, and its only been three months. Maybe things won’t change, maybe we will just go back to the way we were and repeat history, and be another trend in history books. The human race always tends to dig itself out at the last possible minute, I don’t think that will change. I just hope I live a good life. What that means? I have not figured out yet.

I see a lot of change coming for technology. I think we will hit a plateau for a while until a big break comes and everything we use now will become a thing of the passed. Robots will slowly be added into society, so people get used to automation and jobs we used to, do will be no longer in need for a human being to tend to. I do not think they will take us over, but I think it will help us evolve as a society. I hope more time and effort will be put into technology for exploring space and also our seas, they are such a mystery to us still and hold a lot of potential. I think chips for our bodies will be tested and introduced as an upgrade, and more tests will be put on our limits to technology. We still haven’t seen the long term effects yet, especially on my generation who has had it since we were little. I think tech jobs will also become a norm, basic programming will be taught through school and be a necessity to know. Technology has already become unethical and used in problematic ways, and I think it needs to be looked into better and taught thoroughly, so people know what to expect. I think we need to establish a new part of the government that regulates it better than a bunch of old men who have no idea how any of it works. I hope that it is used for growth, not control.
